Arneis
2006 ‘Tertini and Knight’ Arneis

Tertini and Knight is our premium Private Cellar Collection.
These wines only use the finest fruit from the best seasons.
If the fruit is not good enough, the wine is not made. Enjoy
now or cellar to fully appreciate the complexities of these wines.
Tasting Notes: Pale – mid yellow in colour. This wine
displays the classic Arneis flavours – peach and almond.
The partial barrel fermentation has added a hint of oak complexity
while not overpowering the delicate palate.
Wine Analysis: Alcohol = 13.0 % , pH = 3.6, TA = 6.8
Vintage Notes: The 2006 vintage was again generally warm and
dry, making the life of the vineyard manager a little easier
than most years. The fruit was harvested on 3rd April at 13.3
Baume. The vigourous nature of these vines means that canopy
management techniques such as shoot thinning is necessary to
ensure quality fruit is produced.
Fruit Source: 100 % Southern Highlands

Review: “This
Arneis from the Southern Highlands of NSW is proof positive
of Australia’s successful search
for new regional combinations with recently introduced varieties.
Tinged with a hint of gold, this floral young white marries
fresh peach, pear and almond-like flavours with nuances of
vanilla and butter, and carries mealy, leesy undertones courtesy
of partial barrel fermentation. Supported by dusty phenolics,
it’s
artfully made and integrated with pleasing depth and structure.” Jeremy

Review: “A distinct almond and pear bouquet; a well-handled
touch of (partial) barrel fermentation; peach, ripe apple, almond
and just a twist of oak drive the palate; no sweetness issues;
a really interesting, high-quality wine.” 93
