Arneis
2006 ‘Eighteen55’ Arneis
SOLD OUT
Our “1855’ Range of wines reflect
the varietal fruit characters of each variety in a youthful
and modern style. The soft and elegant palate is complemented
by the full flavour of the wine. Enjoy these wines now or cellar
to appreciate the complexities that develop over time.
Tasting Notes: Medium yellow in colour. Aromas of stone fruit
and marzipan. Similar flavours on the palate. Subtle vanillin
flavours from partial barrel fermentation.
Wine Analysis: Alcohol = 12.8 % , pH = 3.5, TA = 6.9
Vintage Notes: The 2006 vintage was again generally warm and
dry, making the life of the vineyard manager a little easier
than most years. The fruit was harvested on 3rd April at 13.1
Baume. The fruit was harvested slightly riper than 2005 to make
a more intensely fruit driven wine and improve the longevity
of wine.

Review: "Delicate nose with musky,
sweet, lifted floral aromas. Palate has balance, intensity
and weight with good persistence of fresh, ripe apricot and
melon-like flavours.”

Whites Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine Oct/Nov 2007
Review: “This
Arneis shows the variety’s very
characteristic pear and orange fragrance. The palate has moderate
weight – in contrast to the viogniers – yet shows
good depth of tropical flavours and finishes tight and crisp.
Otton found it complex with “honeysuckle and cashew, and
a savoury, lemony tang”. Hooke added, “Mouth-watering
aftertaste”.”
