Paul Quirico,
Tertini Wines Viticulturalist, has had
a long history with wine, working in his father’s wine
business from a very young age. Previous studies have taught
Paul the appreciation and complex nature of viticulture.
Paul’s 12 years experience has taught
him that every vintage is different and each year must be treated
on its own merits. He employs the philosophy that a healthy
vine in a well-balanced soil will produce the best quality
fruit and prevent pest and disease damage.
The use of organic fertilisers, canopy management techniques
and attention to detail all contribute to the production of quality
fruit. The gentle treatment of the vine is paramount in his management
technique. Hand pruning, hand harvesting and minimal chemical
spraying are techniques that are employed for the production
of premium quality fruit.
